" The focus of my work is always the human being, his nature and his psyche, as well as the question of when the individual is truly himself or just an adapted shadow of himself in order to function in society. . "

interview
What inspired you to become an artist and when did you start taking art seriously?

Art was always present in the family from a young age. Ultimately, I wanted to become an artist because my work provided me with a place of peace. In the process of drawing or painting, I never had to look for a meaningful reason why I was doing it.

Which artists or art movements have most influenced your style and work?

Starting with my father, my siblings, and then Otto Pankok, whose focus was not on fame or notoriety, but on passion, the urge to communicate and love, all have influenced me. Just like the fragility of Egon Schiele, the mysticism of Gregory Crewdson, the stubbornness of Basquiat, many different musicians like Joseph Arthur and Aaron have always led me to art and reminded me of what I want in life.

Could you walk us through the creative process you go through when creating a new piece?
No, you would have to be me.
Is there a particular theme or message you want to convey in your work?

The human being, his nature and his psyche are at the centre of my work. Who is the individual and when is he truly himself or just an adapted shadow of himself in order to function in society ? Between banalities, despair and awakening.

What has been the biggest challenge on your artistic journey so far and how did you deal with it?

It was probably the moment when I found the courage to fully commit myself and my art. It was the moment when I admitted that there was no other way for me. The creative path is the only one and it remains uncertain where it will ultimately lead me.

Are there any colors and landscapes that you prefer?
Limitless.
Is there a particular place where you prefer to work?

I work everywhere and have consciously decided against having a studio in one particular place. The only thing that is important is that I am completely at peace with myself.

What do you want to say with your art?
Somewhere between happiness and contentment.
Do you have a "philosophy" that guides your creative expression?

Never forget that I am free, that I can do whatever I want and that I don't have to personify any social norm.

What advice would you give to other young artists who are just starting out?

Everyone should go their own way and not rely too much on others.
