Statement
The dot grid has become a means of expression in my work and a way of identifying it. As a structure that can be expanded in any direction, I use this element in a wide range of artistic contexts. For example, I use it to achieve spatial effects on the surface by varying the distance between the grid points on different color backgrounds, or by superimposing a monochrome layer with a homogeneous grid structure, shifting or rotating it. These working methods result in a departure from two-dimensionality, based on visual considerations. The sculptures derived from the circular surface of the dot form or the ellipse developed from it initially achieve their effect through a voluminous force. If the grid is applied as a perforation or applied haptically, it emphasizes the third dimension. The movable elements in the expansive linear objects develop changing shadow constellations under different lighting conditions, which emphasize the spatial impression and expand it imaginatively. The metaphysical, the meditative, and, even if sometimes subjectively interpreted, the transcendent are therefore aspects that have meaning for me in the interaction of time and space. Beyond the visual, the cognitive remains the sensor and essence of my artistic work in comprehensive constellations.
